Music is my world!
I started singing ever since I started thinking! I always sat on the back seat of the car, my mum driving and me singing to the music on the radio. When I was 6 years old I joined the school choir in South Africa. I believe that the first 14 years of my life which I spent abroad (4 years Iran and 10 years South Africa) had a great influence on my musical development.
From 1980 to 1987 I was a member of the choir of the German School in Johannesburg/South Africa. In this context I was given the opportunity to sing with my brothers and sisters in a Soweto church which made me realise that the whole world has a wonderful language - music.
Returning to Germany with my parents in 1986 I set up my first rock-pop band. We played our own music and several bands followed throughout the years. I wrote the lyrics and lead vocals which was a pretty good training. In 1987 I initially met Tato Gomez, the producer of a famous German singer - Reinhard Fendrich, during a rock workshop with whom I practised my song writing. I also took up vocal training with professionals.
Slowly I worked my way into the professional area and was booked for more and more professional studio recordings. I started covering songs and eventually started making a living with what I am good at - singing and performing.
It's a challenge to perform different music. My most important motive is the fun I have in song writing, singing and performing. The more I experiment in rock, pop, funk, and jazz or whatever genre, the more fun I have in living my passion for music. In the meantime I cover a wide spectrum of music styles and voices in my repertoire. The experimentation phase is one which never ends and I have discovered my passion for vocal variation. I perform on different types of events. For example in a duo constellation (piano/voc) that covers a wide variety of songs reaching from jazz standard to pop which is suitable for galas or in larger bands that are suitable for festivals for the private parties or weddings. Throughout the years have expanded my field into professional studio work - check out my repertoire and some samples of radio spots or backing vocals on the "music"-page. Music is my world!
I performed live on German Television (ZDF - Zweites Deutsches Fernsehen) in 1999 as Shania Twain impersonator. Check out the pics and backstage report on my "TV"-page.
